Lifestyle, sun damage, and genetics all contribute to the outward appearance of age. While some of us are lucky and don’t appear to age at all, most of us will reach a point where we start to look older than we feel inside. In order to help one look their best and return to a more balanced internal and external sense of age, “cosmetic rejuvenation” can be done to help restore a more youthful appearance.
Our approach to cosmetic rejuvenation involves minimally invasive, state-of-the-art, local anesthesia skin surgery techniques that combine facets of dermatologic surgery, facial plastic surgery, and ophthalmic plastic surgery. Local anesthesia involves the injection of an anesthetic, such as lidocaine, into the skin or a nerve block to numb the area.
Dr. Barlow’s cosmetic surgery fellowship training was completed at the California Skin Institute under Dr. Greg Morganroth, a nationally recognized leader in these dermatologic and cosmetic surgery techniques. These techniques cater to the patient interested in “freshening up” their appearance, while avoiding major cosmetic surgery that requires general anesthesia and a prolonged recovery. Dr. Barlow’s techniques are designed to produce dramatic results while minimizing risk and downtime through the use of local anesthesia, thereby eliminating some side affects, such as nausea, headaches, allergies and heart problems, which often accompany general anesthesia. Most liposuction and neck rejuvenation patients return to work in three days, and eye and facial rejuvenation patients require one week for recovery.
Our philosophy is to avoid overly aggressive and overly dramatic surgical techniques that can unfortunately leave the tell tale signs of cosmetic surgery that are obvious to the casual observer. Our goal is to create significant improvement and rejuvenation with changes that appear natural and that leaves others wondering why you look younger and more refreshed.
We offer advanced cosmetic dermatology procedures performed with local anesthesia that include eyelifts, facelifts, chin implants, neck liposuctions, laser treatments, and chemical peels.
